ARCHI invites participation in our next Toolkit Seminar, Quality Use
of Medicines: Challenges for GP, Hospital and Community by submitting
an abstract to present at the seminar.
Aims of Seminar
· To showcase innovations projects with demonstrated outcomes
where integration issues for GP, hospital and community have been addressed
to optimise quality use of medicines
· To facilitate information sharing among health professionals
with a focus on quality use of medicines
· To provide information about strategic directions in relation
to innovations in integration and quality use of medicines.

· Hospital and community pharmacists

and/or quality use of medicines

Call for Papers
Submissions for abstracts that relate to innovative projects that focus
on quality use of medicines and integration challenges are invited.
Key themes include community awareness, impact on consumer, integration,
discharge planning, hospital pharmacy, patient safety, risk management,
communication between specialist physicians and GPs/communication between
hospital, GP, consumer and pharmacist, medication review (including
within the home) appropriate prescribing, evaluation, signals for outcomes/outcomes,
clinical indicators, quality of life, compliance, concordance, adherence,
community nursing, outreach services.
Guidelines for
Abstracts
Abstracts should:
· Be presented in Microsoft Word format
· Include the title of the proposed paper, each author's name
with the name of the presenting author underlined
· Focus on the practical implementation of a project/case study
where the outcomes/results have led to changes
· Be no more than 250 words in length.
Presentation
Format
Abstracts accepted will be presented at the seminar as a PowerPoint
presentation. In addition to the presentation, papers for accepted abstracts
will also be welcomed. Presenters will be allocated a 20-minute timeslot,
plus 5 minutes for discussion
Important Dates
15 April 2003 - submission of abstracts
25 April 2003 - notification of acceptance
15 June 2003 - submission of PowerPoint presentation
Presenting authors
at the seminar will receive complementary registration and one night's
accommodation with breakfast. Please note that flights/travel expenses
to the seminar will be at the presenter's cost.
