CONSULTING FEES AND APPLIED TIME

Computachem Services charge on an hourly basis for applied (visible) time and report time. Car expenses are charged per km and all other out-of-pocket expenses are approved by the client in advance.

Once the initial survey and business plan has been completed, all parties will know exactly what needs to be done. Effective consulting does not mean that every day must be spent with a consultant. In practice, the consultant sets up a schedule for one to three days in a week, and then creates a variable cycle to allow a lead-time between delivering a consultancy product and its implementation. Depending on the type of activity, the cycle can be any time from one week to a normal maximum of six weeks. However, the proprietor must at least be present at the commencement and completion of each day to update his knowledge of the assignment and its progress.

As management skills within the organization increase, the ability to take new products or concepts develops at a faster pace. Consultants will not actually do the physical work associated with the implementation of a program, but they may assist at the very beginning. They do act as trainers and supervise the activity until a result is achieved.

Consultants work flexibly within organizations and can also be found utilising their talents as:

a. advisers at board meetings,

b. actually becoming appointed executive directors,

c. relieving in management positions for short periods of time, or

d. creating new management positions by generating specifications, operating in the role for a limited period and then training a new manager to take over.
