Welcome
to the first edition of the i2P e-magazine, which is the second generation
publication based on Computachem E-Newsletter.
Our name reflects the fact that in this Internet era of B2B and B2C,
we are presenting with i2P, an acronym for Information to Pharmacists.
In
terms of interactivity, i2P has taken a quantum leap compared to its
predecessor, and as you investigate the various "tools",
you will find that we have such items as e-book supplements, which
are self contained publications within themselves, and a format that
we may eventually arrive at for the e-magazine.
Rollo
Manning's Tiwi Health Board
newsletter has been packaged as an illustration, and the versatility
is astounding. They can even be sent as e-mail attachments, so the
e-book version of this magazine
could be downloaded very quickly to your desktop, stored in a library
folder, and then transmitted in total via your own e-mail as an attachment.
We
are suggesting that you examine this technology for your own use.
You could, for example, deliver an oganised booklet of patient specific
CMI for your polypharmacy patients.
The ways in which you can use this technology is only limited by your
imagination.
Anyone who wishes to form an alliance to deliver an e-book publishing
project is welcome to contact the editor at neilj@computachem.com.au
Further
improvements include the ability to arrange a printer-friendly text
only page, the ability to bookmark a particular page, the ability
to transmit a single page by e-mail (provided your e-mail program
has HTML functionality).
We have simplified the Forum, have arranged for a topical subject
for you to vote on (located on the front page), and we have also provided
a ratings poll so that the writer's can gauge your response to their
work.
All
the above in response to those who completed our survey in November
2001.
Because
you asked for it, we are encouraging our writers to include as many
references to Internet technology that they can, to ensure our readership
is first with the best information.
This will gradually evolve over the year.
If
you have any specific subject you wish us to research and cover, then
please do not hesitate to let us know. The list of subjects is ever-increasing
and can be accessed through the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
