Rollo Manning adds a new panel to his "Job of a Pharmacist" model entitled
Professional Image.
A pause in model development will now occur, so that amplification of
each of the points already made, can be developed.
Ken Stafford is back in this edition wondering why pharmacists give
so much away for free.
Do you agree?
Pat Gallagher is back with more details on b2b e-commerce development
and the unique numbering system that will open up your business to cost
saving opportunities, if you are prepared to embrace the concept.
Woolworths
e-commerce initiatives are featured, updating four major areas they
are rapidly developing.
These developments are one of the reasons that the sharemarket values
Woolworths shares so highly, and all represent steep competition for
the retailing efforts of pharmacy.
Jon Aldous outlines that with some simple self education, it is possible
to put your business on the Internet in a basic format, for very little
cost. The exercise is worth following, because it will "kick start"
you into thinking through what your Internet development should result
in.
Do you have a vision?
Heather Pym, a medical practice pharmacist, and a new writer for the
newsletter, shares her experiences working within a Division of General
Practice in Melbourne. Her article series should prove to be very interesting,
giving a GP perspective on pharmacy.
Peter Sayers continues his idealised model development for a consultant
pharmacist practice, integrated into a community pharmacy, but not dependent
on a government subsidy.
In his latest article he rounds out the concept of utilising available
pharmacy human resources to market a consultancy program.
And
finally, Roundup brings some more information regarding the new Tiwi
Island indigenous pharmacy.
This new initiative has drawn some criticisms by the Pharmacy Guild,
but whatever the outcome, indigenous people have finally the opportunity
to develop a pharmacy service suited to their own culture and local
requirements.
Roy
Stevenson has spilt red wine all over his keyboard, and regrets that
he is unable to be with us in this edition. However, he has vowed to
give up the grape and will be with us once more.
Don't forget to check out the forum and post your ideas and comments.
They will be greatly appreciated.
