A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR
Welcome
to Edition #29 of Computachem E-Newsletter.
In this edition we see Rollo Manning extend his pharmacist job model
to include two new information panels, and he begins an explanation
and commentary, on a page linked to various points in the model. Your
participation is invited, and your comments will be included as Rollo
progresses with his assignment.
We also welcome Ken Stafford back, and in his current article he discusses
some of the remuneration issues facing pharmacists, as they come to
terms with their rapidly changing world.
Allan Jelleff launches into part two of the debate series regarding
approval numbers in medical centre pharmacies,
and advances some very sound and logical arguments in favour of unrestricted
approval numbers.
Our e-commerce article for this edition discusses the Pharmacy Board
withdrawal from the Peter Brown (Pharmacy Direct) prosecution and how
e-pharmacy is progressing in popularity with online customers, along
with suggestions for official pharmacy involvement in e-commerce.
Jon Aldous departs slightly from his series on education with the message
that we should "Advertise the Learning" to improve our media
image. This is a thoughtful article and one well worth reading.
Peter Sayers advances his idealised model for consultant pharmacists
and in this article, develops the interactivity of consultant pharmacy
with forward pharmacy.
This is developing into a very interesting concept, with practical ideas
that can be utilised now.
Finally, our guest Roundup columnist has forwarded a news clipping on
a new type of pharmacy being developed for a really remote part of Australia.
While the news item is only short, our columnist promises to provide
some very interesting background material in the near future.
The E-Pharma Conference is now over, and we will endeavour to publish
some extracts from some of the papers presented in subsequent editions.
A wealth of knowledge was delivered at this conference, and should provide
a much needed confidence boost to those people interested in developing
an e-commerce venture.
